The pure compound is colorless, but older samples tend to acquire a yellow cast due to decomposition into oxides of nitrogen and water. Most commercially available nitric acid has a concentration of 68% in water. When the solution contains more than 86% HNO3, it is referred to as fuming nitric acid. Depending on the amount of nitrogen dioxide present, fuming nitric acid is further characterized as red fuming nitric acid at concentrations above 86%, or white fuming nitric acid at concentrations above 95%.

Product Application:
Nitric acid is the primary choice here on several grounds. It is an oxidizing acid that can dissolve most metals to form soluble metal nitrates. It has poor oxidizing strength below 2 M but is a powerful oxidizing acid in concentrated form. Its oxidizing power can be enhanced by addition of chlorate, permanganate, hydrogen peroxide or bromine, as well as by increasing its temperature and pressure. Most metals and alloys are oxidized by nitric acid; however, gold and platinum are not oxidized and some metals are passivated when attacked by concentrated nitric acid

Acid Thickener Rx is a nonionic surfactant designed to build viscosity in acid media. Acid Thickener Rx surfactant may be used alone in hydrochloric acid, or in combination with sodium chloride (salt) when used with other acids (such as phosphoric, sulfuric, hydrofluoric, citric, oxalic, etc.) Varying the use level of Acid Thickener surfactant (and salt) will vary the viscosity build. Acid Thickener  Rx is a versitle, broad spectrum non phenolic biocide & Fungicide for leather, paper, paint, textile,wood and water treatment , free from penta – chlorophenate.

Hydrofluoric Acid 70 (also known as Hydrogen Fluoride) has the chemical formula HF.  Hydrofluoric Acid is extremely hazardous and sale is restricted.  HF Acid is widely used as an intermediate in industrial chemical manufacturing, mining clarification, oil refining catalyst production, glass manufacture and finishing, and silicon chip manufacturing. It is also used in a number of chemical preparations for metal pickling, etching, and buffing and in ceramic and porcelain applications for restoration.

Product Application:
Currently, the largest use for HF is in aluminum production. Other HF uses include uranium processing, petroleum alkylation, and stainless steel pickling. Hydrofluoric acid is also used to produce fluorocarbons used in aerosol sprays and in refrigerants.

Metakleen Soltex  is a strong non caustic alkaline cleaner designed for use in the food and related industries in situations where the use of a caustic material is not indicated either for safety reasons or where susceptible materials are involved, for example aluminum and zinc. Metakleen Soltex  is also ideal for cleaning the most stubborn grease, oil, carbon, Sintered bronze capsule of T Type strainer , and other hard coatings in engineering production and maintenance.

• Removal of heavy grease, oil or carbonised deposits from caustic-sensitive manufacturing, processing, handling or transfer equipment, e.g. aluminium baking trays.

Using Procedure:

• Do not allow Metakleen Soltex to dry onto aluminium, glass or paintwork before rinsing.
• Metakleen Soltex may be used cold or with hot water between 50-60°C at dilutions between 1:10 and 1:100 depending on the degree of soiling.
• Metakleen Soltex may be applied manually with brush or cloth or used via hand-spray or high-pressure washer.
• For hard coating removal, carbon, paint etc. Metakleen Soltex is most commonly used in purpose designed, heated immersion baths. Tanks should be constructed of welded steel with lids. Set temperature at 85°C and ensure immersion period of at least 2 hours. Periodic removal and a light wire brushing of components with the most stubborn coatings is beneficial.

Zinc Chloride is a chemical compound, which is composed of zinc and chlorine. It is a hygroscopic white crystalline ionic salt with the chemical formula ZnCl2. Zinc Chloride is soluble in mediums such as water, glycerol, ether and alcohol. Since Zinc chloride is a deliquescent, it must be protected from sources of moisture such as water vapor.
Zinc chloride has the ability to react with metal oxides (MO) to give derivatives of the formula MZnOCl2.This reaction is relevant to the utility of ZnCl2 solution as a flux for soldering — it dissolves oxide coatings, exposing the clean metal surface. Fluxes with ZnCl2 as an active ingredient are sometimes called "tinner's fluid". Typically this flux was prepared by dissolving zinc foil in dilute hydrochloric acid until the liquid ceased to evolve hydrogen; for this reason, such flux was once known as "killed spirits". Because of its corrosive nature, this flux is not suitable for situations where any residue cannot be cleaned away, such as electronic work.[citation needed] This property also leads to its use in the manufacture of magnesia cements for dental fillings and certain mouthwashes as an active ingredient.

Product Application:
Since it reacts with metal oxides to yield compounds with the general formula MZnOCl2 (Where M is the metal), zinc chloride is used as a flux/cleaning agent for soldering purposes. These fluxes have the ability to dissolve the layer of oxides on the surface of the metal. Some other uses of this compound are listed below.
In its molten state, this compound acts as a catalyst for some aromatization reactions. For example, hexamethyl benzene can be obtained from methanol with the help of a molten ZnCl2
Since it acts as a moderately strong Lewis acid, this compound can also serve as a catalyst for the Fischer indole synthesis reaction and some Friedel-Crafts acylation reactions.
The Lucas reagent is a solution of anhydrous zinc chloride and concentrated hydrochloric acid. This reagent is very useful in the preparation of alkyl chlorides.
A mixture of zinc oxide and hexachloroethane is used in some smoke grenades. Upon ignition, these compounds react to form a smoke of zinc chloride, which serves as a smokescreen.
ZnCl2 is also useful in fingerprint detection since it forms an easily detectable complex with Ruhemann’s purple.
The aqueous solutions of this compound, when diluted, can be used for disinfecting purposes. It is a constituent of several antiseptic mouthwash products.

Product Note:
Degrease thoroughly the surface with RXSOL-10-1005-025 . Never let the product dry. Hose off completely and thoroughly with a high-pressure spraying pistol. Remaining grease and product will influence the pickling process adversely. Let the surface dry, rub dry or blow dry.
Stir the pickling paste. Spread the undiluted paste over the surface or the weld by using the supplied acid resistant brush.Contact time: 30 min to 2 h. (depending on the kind of weld, the room temperature and material).The pickling process is terminated as soon as the paste turns green. Always rinse abundantly with clean water. Rinse preferably with demineralised water.
Never let the product dry Prolonged pickling lead to accelerated corrosion sensitivity and damages the passivation process .
In case of doubt, try out on a test surface or contact our technical service. Passivation Liquid RX :RXSOL-20-2401
RXSOL PASSIVATION is highly conc and acidic product , It does not give Black or Yellow stain marks after washing with water. It simultaneously removes annealing colours, ferritic contamination & weld burns.
Spray is very safe & easy to use for cleaning of large equipments like S.S. vessels, dryers, agitators, dairy machinery, fermentators, internals as well as externals of pipes by pressurised spray bottle or pump. passivation process improve the corrosion resistance of metal parts / surface.

Product Application:
It is used to clean weld seams and surrounding areas with brush. It is used to remove heavy scales, discolouration, annealing colours, rust particles near weld and welding affected area by heat.

Circulation method : For closed system like PIPE , use concentrated materials atleast for 1-2 Hrs . Then FLUSH the system with TECHNICAL GRADE OF DI-WATER ( which is free from , all SOLUBLE IMPURITIES )
Spray Method : For TANK PASSIVATION , this is very effective method . After dilution 10 – 20% Directly spray on wall of TANKS atleast for 10-15 Minutes , then wash the system with cupious amout of fresh water , finally use TECH GRADE DI water for complete wash.

Procedure of Passivation
1. Isolate the exchanger and set up a circuit with an external tank with heating coil inside and a pump to circulate cleaning solution.
FLUSHING:-
2. Flush the Exchanger with fresh water to remove loose material (like dirt etc.) till such time clear water comes.
INHIBITED ACID CLEANING:-
3. Circulate inhibited Acid (5-6 % Citric Acid and 1% Rodine 213) along with non ionic wetting agent like RXSOL-T300  (RXSOL-20-T300-210 )   through Exchanger Loop for 6 to 8 hours
4. It total iron concentration reaches 5000 – 8000 PPM and concentration below 2% acid percentage then dump the cleaning solution and repeat the cycle with fresh inhibited acid.
5. Samples to be tested for pH, TDS and iron on hourly basis.
6. Normal operating temperature should be 50-60º C.
7. When iron concentration and acid concentration of solution reaches steady state and cleaning in completed. Drain the cleaning solution.
NEUTRALIZING:-
8. Circulate 1-2% solution of soda Ash for one to two for neutralization.
9. Rinse the neutralizing solution with water till pH of Inlet and Outlet is same.
PASSIVATION:-
10. Immediately fill and Circulate with 1-3% of solution of sodium Hexametaphosphate for 4-6 hours keeping operating temperature around 50-60º C. Analyze for Phosphate levels in Inlet and Outlet. (Normally maintain 30-40 PPM O-PO4 level)
11. Drain the passive solution without flushing with water.
DRYING:-
12. Dry the circuit with dry air/N2.

For Pickling This is probably the most commonly used method. Use a solution of nitric and hydrofluoric acids in water. We use ASTM A380, solution D. The formula is specified in A380 as 6 – 25% HNO3 and ½ – 8% HF in water at 70 -140 F (21 – 60 C) for about 30 minutes. This is a strong cleaning solution and may etch highly finished surfaces.

Passivation Treatments
• Grades with at least 16% chromium (except free machining grade such as 303):
20-50% nitric acid, at room temperature to 40oC for 30-60 minutes.
• Grades with less than 16% chromium (except free machining grades such as 416):
20-50% nitric acid, at room temperature to 40oC for 60 minutes.
• Free machining grades such as 303, 416 and 430F:
20-50% nitric acid + 2-6% sodium dichromate, at room temperature to 50oC for 25 40 minutes

SUPER KLEEN 5380 is a 100% active concentrated cleaner designed specifically for high pressure an ambient temperature spray washing of Aluminum, Aircraft Parts, Electric Motors, Plastics, and Multi-metals. The powerful cleaning action becomes more effective at higher temperatures with short-term in-plant rust inhibition. It is safe for use on all metals & electric motor windings requiring no extra steps for most applications.

Product Application:

• SUPER KLEEN 5380 is best used in cleaning applications where an excellent rinse with less aggressive cleaning is required. Potassium base leaves parts residue-free after rinsing.
• SUPER KLEEN 5380 used to remove light soils, including soluble coolants, metal forming compounds, and shop soils.

Dose :
For Power Washers: Heat the water to at least 160ºF. Open and secure the Power Washer door.Carefully and slowly pour 50 to 250 of SUPER KLEEN 5380 per 5000 ml of water over the door frame and through theexpanded metal internal reservoir cover in the washer. Close the washer door and start the pump to mix the detergent. For all other cleaning equipment: Add SUPER KLEEN 5380 carefully and as instructed by the machine manufacturer. Avoid “dumping” of SUPER KLEEN 5380 directly into washer reservoir. Violent exothermic (heat released) reactions, splashing of heated chemical solutions and the premature release of fumes may occur. If chemical must be added to the solution, slowly pour chemical into solution while continuously mixing.
SUPER KLEEN 5380 is designed for use at low concentrations:
Washing light soils/High Rinsing 50- 100 ml / 5000 ml
Washing heavier soils 250- 450 ml / 5000 ml
Useable temperature range 150° - 210º. Higher temperatures increase effectiveness.

Fluorosilicic acid (H2SiF6) is manufactured and sold as aqueous (water) solutions. The solutions are clear, colorless liquids that have a slightly sharp, pungent odor. Common industrial solution strength concentrations are 20 % and 40% in water.
Fluosilicic acid can be obtained as a major byproduct of phosphate fertilizer industry. It can be used in the preparation of sodium fluorosilicate, via neutralization with sodium chloride. It can also undergo neutralization with ammonia to produce ammonium fluoride and silica.

Product Application:
Concentrated fluorosilicic acid solution (FSA) is used for water fluoridation, as a metal surface treatment and cleaner and for pH adjustment in industrial textile processing or laundries. It can also be used in the processing of hides, for hardening masonry and ceramics and in the manufacture of other chemicals. FSA can only exist as a liquid. There is no solid form. Fluorosilicic acid solutions are corrosive and contact can severely irritate and burn the skin and eyes causing possible permanent eye damage. Breathing concentrated fluorosilicic acid solutions can severely irritate and burn the nose, throat, and lungs, causing nosebleeds, cough, wheezing and shortness of breath. Many of the symptoms described are due to the hydrogen fluoride present as an impurity.

Product Note:
Inhalation or ingestion of large amounts of concentrated fluorosilicic acid solution can cause nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. Exposure to high concentrations or long term exposures to lower concentrations can cause fluoride poisoning with stomach pain, weakness, convulsions and death. It can also cause deposits of fluorides in bones and teeth, a condition called fluorosis. This may cause pain, disability and discoloration of teeth.
